BIENVENIDO AL INSTITUTO DE FISICA DE LA UNIVERSIDAD AUTONOMA DE SAN LUIS POTOSI (IF-UASLP).
El 1 de diciembre de 1955, la UASLP dio origen a la Escuela y al Instituto de Física, contando inicialmente con un laboratorio de radiación cósmica. El IF-UASLP pretende llegar a ser un instituto de investigación de talla internacional donde los estudiantes adquieran la mejor formación posible que les permita regresar a sus lugares de origen a realizar el trabajo de investigación de forma profesional.
Realiza sus funciones sustantivas educando y formando personal calificado, realizando investigación que contribuya al conocimiento universal, y vinculándose local, nacional e internacionalmente. Hoy en día cuenta con 33 investigadores realizando estudios teóricos y experimentales en distintas áreas de la Física y más recientemente también en Biología y Biofísica, y con cinco programas educativos (Posgrado en Ciencias Física, Posgrado en Ciencias Interdisciplinarias, Doctorado Institucional en Ingeniería y Ciencia de Materiales, Posgrado en Ciencias Aplicadas y Licenciatura en Biofísica) donde se obtienen los grados de Maestría, Doctorado y Licenciado.
A partir de 2023, las instalaciones del Instituto de Física de la Universidad Autónoma se encuentran localizadas en Privadas del Pedregal, un área en pleno desarrollo al suroeste de la Ciudad de San Luis Potosí. Ahí se cuenta con amplias instalaciones equipadas para realizar el trabajo de educación e investigación.
