"Hidrofobic surface treatment for root canal sealing"

In this project we propose the utilization of a hydrophobic cement based in silicón that allows the good one sealed of the third apical. Previous studies have demonstrated that the hydrophobic properties are capable of diminishing the penetration of fluids up to in 90 %.

To validate a new technique of obturation endodontica based on the chemical transformation of the dentine radicular for hydrophobic silicon and ionizables. The following aims will have to be fulfilled:
i) Hydrophobic, that optimizes the contact of the silicón and the dentine radicular treated.
Ii) It reactivates opposite to the silicon to guarantee a stable and permanent union.
Iii) antibacterial activity thanks to the ionization of the functional groups grafted to the silicón.
